Role: Creative Director, Co-author

As co-author and creative director, I worked with design expert and Emmy-nominated TV host of Netflix’s Queer Eye Bobby Berk to flesh out his unique take on home design as both a barometer and advocate for mental wellness. I led his in-house team and the design team at Penguin Randomhouse on all creative, art and editorial direction. As Bobby’s co-writer, I worked closely with Bobby directly to absorb his passion for mental wellness and his deep love of design to co-write the entire book in Bobby’s conversational, relatable, humor-loving voice. Home design, like many fields today, is a supersaturated industry. Bobby’s unique POV was an incredibly generative—and deeply humanistic—lens through which I examined and interrogated everything. From chapter titles to captions to every home design trope under the sun—all of it was up for renegotiation. With mental wellness as the filter, home design took on a new shape: Therapist, doctor, friend.
